Interface and Menu Panels
The menus in eSUB Fusion guide you through your selections. This section covers the basics of navigating the menus, viewing panels, and modals in eSUB Fusion.
Global Navigation Menu - The global navigation menu contains a list of high-level, permissions-based navigation options.
Slide-Out Menu - The slide-out menu contains more granular navigation options and dynamically changes depending on the selections made from the global navigation menu.
Main Content Panel - The main content panel displays content based on the selections made in either the global navigation menu or the slide-out menu.
Confirmation Modals - A confirmation modal displays an alert that you must confirm or cancel before the next step can be taken.
New and Updated Navigation Areas
The eSUB Fusion navigation includes the areas below. What you see depends on the modules enabled for your organization and your permissions.
Reporting
A top-level Reporting menu on the global navigation menu gives you access to company-wide reports, such as the global Cost to Complete, without opening an individual project. Project-level reports remain available within each project under Reporting.
Scheduling
Organizations with the Scheduling module enabled see a Scheduling entry in the navigation menu. Scheduling lets your team schedule crews to projects by day, with Project and Crew views, plus a personal My Schedule view for crew members. The Scheduling entry only appears if you have the Scheduling View or My Schedule permission.
Progress Billing and Pay Applications
Within a project, the Progress Billing area is part of the project navigation. It brings the project's billing workflows together, including the Schedule of Values and Progress Billing entries. Pay Applications are now a tab inside Progress Billing: if you previously navigated directly to Pay Applications, you will find them there.
Common Buttons and Fields
eSUB Fusion uses a consistent set of buttons and fields across its pages. Recognizing them helps you find the options available on any page in the software.
Expand/Collapse Buttons - There are both horizontal and vertical expand/collapse buttons on the slide-out menu and in other areas. Use the buttons to collapse menus to allow for more space, or to expand menus to reveal the options within.
Action Button - The action button appears on the bottom-right of most pages and allows easy access to frequently used functions. Depending on the page, selecting the action button may reveal a submenu with multiple functions to choose from.
Three-dot menu Button - The three-dot button reveals additional permissions-based options that can be executed on the item in question. Documents on log pages may contain three-dot buttons that serve as useful shortcuts to certain actions, such as Edit, Send, or Delete.
Tabs - Some pages and documents contain tabs that allow you to view and configure additional fields.
Sorting and Filtering
Document logs and lists contain buttons that allow you to sort and filter. Depending on the page, a log displays in either a table or a card list format; both formats offer filter and sort functionality so that you can see the data that is most relevant to you.
Sort and Filter Tables - Select the filter buttons on the header row to reveal the options. Once you have made your filtering and sorting selections, select Apply.
Sort/Filter In Use (Tables) - The filter button icon appears with a blue indicator when a filter/sort is in use on the page. Select the icon to view or adjust the filter/sort. Select Reset, then Apply, to remove a filter/sort.
Sort and Filter Card Lists - Select the filter button that appears above the card list to reveal the options. Once you have made your filtering and sorting selections, select Apply.
Sort/Filter In Use (Card Lists) - The filter button icon appears with a dot and number indicating the active filters when a filter/sort is in use on the page. Select the filter icon to view or adjust the filter/sort. Select Clear Selections, then Apply, to remove a filter/sort.
FAQ
Why don’t I see a menu item that a colleague sees?
What appears in the navigation depends on the modules enabled for your organization and on your own permissions. See New and Updated Navigation Areas and Set Up User Permissions.
Why is there no Scheduling entry in my navigation menu?
Scheduling appears for organizations with the Scheduling module enabled. See Scheduling.
What is the Reporting menu for, and how is it different from a project’s reports?
The top-level Reporting menu gives you company-wide reports without opening a project first. Project-level reports stay on the project’s own slide-out menu. See Reporting.
Why does one log look like a table and another like cards?
Logs render as either a table or a card list depending on the page. Both support sorting and filtering. See Sorting and Filtering.
The buttons look the same everywhere. Is that deliberate?
Yes. eSUB Fusion reuses a consistent set of buttons and fields across pages, so recognizing them once tells you what is available anywhere. See Common Buttons and Fields.
