User Personas: Admin | Project Management
Your project documents and log pages may be downloaded as PDFs or exported to Excel for printing, data manipulation, or just for posterity.
To perform the actions described in this article, a user must have the General Permissions - View and Share permissions for the document.

Download Document PDF
- Select the document from the log page to view it, then select View PDF
- Select the desired sections and/or attachments to include in the PDF (if applicable) then select Generate PDF
- Review the PDF and select Download if desired
- Should changes need to be made, select Configure and repeat steps 2 and 3 as necessary.

Reorder PDF Attachments
While generating a document PDF:
- Select the desired attachments to include in the PDF, then click/hold and drag the reorder icon on the selected attachment(s) to reorder it
- Select Done
- The PDF will be downloaded to your default downloads folder

How to Automatically Open PDFs After Downloading
To update your browser settings to open PDFs automatically upon download, follow these steps depending on the browser you use:
Google Chrome:
- Open Chrome and click the three dots (menu) in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Scroll down and click on Privacy and security.
- Select Site Settings.
- Scroll down to Additional content settings and expand the option.
- Click on PDF documents.
- Toggle Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome off. This will allow PDFs to open automatically in the browser.
Mozilla Firefox:
- Open Firefox and click the three lines (menu) in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- In the General panel, scroll down to the Applications section.
- In the list, find Portable Document Format (PDF).
- On the right side, click the dropdown and select Preview in Firefox (or the option that opens it with your PDF reader).
Microsoft Edge:
- Open Edge and click the three dots (menu) in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- In the left menu, select Cookies and site permissions.
- Scroll down to PDF documents.
- Toggle Always open PDF files externally off to open PDFs directly in Edge.
Safari (macOS):
- Open Safari, and in the top-left corner, click on Safari > Preferences.
- Select the Websites tab.
- Scroll down in the left menu to PDF documents.
- On the right, choose how Safari should handle PDFs (open in Safari or a specified app).
Exporting Document Logs
Exporting document logs can be useful for notifying contacts of outstanding items or sharing updates during meetings. Logs can be exported at either the project level or the global log level.
To export a document log to Excel:
From the Global Navigation Menu, select Documents, then choose the appropriate document type from the slide-out menu.
ORFrom the Projects Log, select a project, then choose the appropriate document type from the slide-out menu.
Select the Actions button and choose Export Log.
The log will export as a CSV file, which can be filtered and formatted as needed before distribution.
