The Request For Information (RFI) module in eSUB Fusion lets you formally request additional information or clarifications during the life of your project and record official responses so they are easily accessible by your project members, in the office or in the field.
To perform the actions in this article, you need the RFIs - General Permissions, Share, Change Status to Closed, and Change Status to Void permissions. See Set Up User Permissions for more guidance.

View and Manage the RFI Log

From the Project Home Screen:

Offline Storage of Documents
eSUB Fusion stores up to 1,000 documents created or modified in the last 90 days on your device. The download symbol shows which documents are available in offline mode. This limits the amount of storage the app uses and keeps it running smoothly.

Document Statuses, Due Dates, and FlagsDocuments with an approval process or of a time-sensitive nature show additional information on the log page so the most pertinent details are available at a glance. Document statuses. The status represents the document’s current state. Status options vary by document type. Due dates. Time-sensitive documents may display a due date pertinent to an internal or external stakeholder on the project team. Flags. An RFI marked Urgent is flagged in the RFI log as a visual indicator of importance. Flags are not currently available on the mobile app for other document types. |

RFI FeaturesGeneral Info. Choose recipients and establish base details such as the due date, subject, and schedule or cost impact. If the No. field is left blank, the RFI number is generated automatically. Marking the RFI Urgent flags it in the RFI log. Request for Information. Enter supporting details, your question, and your recommended solution. Answer to Request for Information. Record the official response to the RFI. Attachments on an RFI can be designated as the official answer and are viewable on the mobile app. Additional Info tab. Supplement the RFI with reference numbers, drawing and sheet numbers, drawing detail, spec number, and the affected cost code. |

Media tab. Snap photos and videos or upload them from your device library, and add text or freehand markups to images. Files tab. Attachments are currently only able to be added via the web, but they may be viewed on the mobile app. Opening an attached PDF from the Files tab uses your device’s native PDF or document viewer, and the file is read-only. | |
Revisions. Revisions let you make corrections or updates while keeping a record of previous versions. Revisions append R1, R2, R3, and so on to the document number. Older revisions are not editable, but they can still be emailed or downloaded as PDF. Use the Show Latest Revision Only filter option to hide old revisions from the log.
Activity Log. The Activity Log tab displays a timeline of activity related to the document, such as email activity. Viewing it requires the Mailbox - General Permissions permission. The Activity Log is currently only accessible via the web.
Create an RFI from a Snapshot
Creating an RFI from a snapshot requires your organization to be subscibed to the Drawings tool and all applicable permissions. For more information see: Sheets: Viewing, Uploading, and Managing and Sheets and Snapshots (Mobile).

You can start an RFI directly from a snapshot of a sheet, and the marked-up snapshot carries into the new RFI as media. From the Drawings tool on the project's home screen:

Add Media and Markup Images
While creating or editing the RFI:
- Select the Media tab
- Use the media icons to add media: the gallery icon selects media from your device’s gallery, the camera icon snaps a live photo, and the video icon captures a live video
- To add markups, select a media thumbnail to view it full screen, then select Markup

Record an RFI Response

While creating or editing the RFI:

| Certain actions, such as entering a Responded On date, automatically update the status to Answered. The status can also be changed manually. |

| Previous revisions of a document have their status automatically updated to Void. |
