User Personas: Project Management | Field
Daily Reports enables you to track the daily progress on the job site. As you complete Daily Reports on your project, data from the Daily Reports populates various reports and widgets, allowing you to get powerful reporting out of a tool you use every day. Daily Reports enables you to track project weather conditions, Keywords, foreman commentary, images from the field, and crew labor.
To perform the actions described in this article, a user must have the Daily Reports - General Permissions and Share permissions.

View and Manage the Daily Report Log
- Select Projects on the global navigation menu, then select the desired project from the list
- Select Daily Reports from the slide out menu
- Use the sort and filter icons on the log to refine the list
- Select a Daily Report to view it
Log Features
Search, Sort, and Filter the Log
- Use the Search bar at the top of the page to enter your search criteria
- For pages that appear as tables, use the filter buttons on the header to make your desired sorting/filtering selections
- For pages that appear as card lists, use the filter button that appears above the card list (next to the Search bar) to make your desired sorting/filtering selections

Download Documents
- Select the 3-dot menu in line with the applicable document from the log page, then select View PDF
- Select the desired sections and/or attachments to include in the PDF (if applicable) then select Done
- If the preview is acceptable, select Download, or select Configure and repeat step 2

Export Document Logs
To be able to save your records or for analysis, you can export document logs into CSV.

Select the Action button and select Export Log. The log file will download into CSV format.

Email Documents
- Select the 3-dot menu from the log page, then select Email
- Compose the email, then select Send

Create Daily Report
Daily Reports can be created on either the mobile app or the web. See the Daily Reports on Mobile article for more guidance on creating Daily Reports via the mobile app.
- Select Projects on the global navigation menu, then select the desired project from the list
- Select Daily Reports from the slide out menu
- Select Add Daily Report on the action button
- Fill in the fields as desired (see below)
- Select Save when finished

Daily Report Features
General Tab
Use the fields in the General Info section to document worksite information for the day such as the total workers on site, time on site, and the weather. If the No. field is left blank, the Daily Report number will be generated automatically.
Weather
If the project has a valid address, the day's weather will auto-populate. Weather conditions for the day may be manually entered, in the event that the actual observed weather differs from the automatic weather reporting.
Keywords
Keywords are tags that can be added to the document for categorization purposes or to bring attention to issues or setbacks on the job site.

Comments Tab
Your comments can be added to the Daily Report to document the progress or conditions of the worksite. The Internal Comments section can be used for comments that you wish to keep internal to your company, and by default these comments won't be included when emailing or printing the Daily Report.
An admin can customize and/or remove the comment fields under Settings in the global navigation menu. See the Company Settings article for more guidance.
Crew Tab
The Crew tab is used to document the labor hours and shift information of your Crew. The labor hours of the Crew can also populate as a time card in the Time Management module.
To track Crew labor, the Crews tab for Daily Reports must be enabled under Company Settings > Daily Reports. See the Company Settings article for more guidance.
Media & Attachments Tab
Files, media, and other supporting documentation can be attached or linked to a document. Some attachments may be included when generating a PDF of the document, if desired.

Activity Log
The Activity Log tab displays a timeline of activity related to the document such as the email activity.
To see the Activity Log tab, a user must have the Mailbox - General Permissions permission.
From the document log page:
- Select the document to view it then select the Activity Log tab
- Select a link under Email Activity to view the associated message
Track Crew Labor
To track Crew labor, the Crews tab for Daily Reports must be enabled under Company Settings > Daily Reports. See the Company Settings article for more guidance.
Add Crew
While creating or editing the Daily Report:
- Select the Crew tab then select Add Crew
- Select the desired Crew Members
- Enter the Cost Codes and Hours information for the Crew
- Select Add Cost Code to add another Cost Code if desired
- Select the Delete icon to delete a Cost Code if desired
- Select Done when finished
Override Crew's Labor Class
Default Labor Classes are assigned to Crew members by an administrator, but the Crew member's Labor Class may be overridden temporarily on a Daily Report if a Crew member performed work as a different Labor Class for a portion of their work day.
The Labor Classes available on the Labor Class Override field are dependent upon the project's selected Rate Template under Settings > Project Info. See the Labor Rates Setup article for more guidance.
While creating or editing the Crew on a Daily Report:
- Select the Labor Class Override field and choose the desired Labor Class for the Crew member(s)
- Select Save when finished

Edit Crew
While creating or editing the Daily Report:
- Select the Crew tab and make edits under the Crew Summary:
- Select Add Crew to add another Crew member
- Make edits to the crew member hours using the inline fields
- Select Add Cost Code on the three-dot icon to add a cost code to a Crew member
- Select the Delete icon on a Cost Code to delete a Cost Code from a Crew member
- Select Delete Crew Member on the three-dot icon on the Crew member to delete them
- Select Save when finished

Crew Features
Crew Members
Build out your Crew by selecting from the available Crew members list.
Select Cost Code
Select a Cost Code to associate with the Crew.
RT/OT/DT
Enter the number of labor hours that your Crew worked on this Cost Code (regular time, overtime, and double-time hours). The OT and DT fields can be disabled by an admin on the Company Settings page.
Shift
Choose Shift 1, 2, or 3. The Shift field can be disabled by an admin on the Company Settings page.
Labor Class Override
Use this field as a temporary manual override of the default Labor Class of your Crew member(s) if they performed work as a different Labor Class. Labor Classes can be configured by an admin under Settings on the global navigation menu. See the Labor Rates Setup article for more guidance.
Hours Lost
Enter the number of hours that were lost due to delays or issues. (Lost hours will not deduct hours from hours worked).
Units
Enter the number of units completed.
Comments
Enter comments to appear on the Daily Report and in the Timecard.
Copy Daily Report
When copying a Daily Report, the following information is carried over:
- General Info - Time on site, time off site, total workers
- Comments tab - All data
- Crew tab - All data
- Select the Daily Report to view, then select Copy

Edit Daily Report
From the Daily Report log:
- Select a Daily Report to view, then select Edit
- Make edits as desired
- Select Save when finished
| If you have edit permissions for Daily Reports but a Daily Report is not editable, it may be due to the Daily Report edit window setting under Project Settings, or the associated timecard(s) may be in Approved status. |
Delete Daily Report
From the Daily Report log:
- Select a Daily Report to view, then select Edit
- Select Delete
Export Daily Report Log
The Daily Report log can be exported as an CSV file and includes all the info displayed under the Info and Comments tab of the Daily Report.
From the Daily Report Log in either the Global or Project View:
- Select Actions then Export log
- The file will be downloaded to your default downloads folder
Daily Report Settings
Project-specific Daily Report settings can be toggled by a project manager or administrator.
