Drawings in eSUB Fusion gives your team an easy and streamlined workflow for uploading, annotating, sharing, and creating related documentation for your project drawings from virtually anywhere, on any device.
To perform the actions described in this article, a user must have the User Admin - Full User Management and Drawings - General Permissions permissions and must have an active Drawings subscription.

- Assign a Drawings license to the user
- Grant Drawings permissions to the user
- Ask the user to log out and back in for the changes to take effect
See the sections below for step-by-step guidance.
Assign a Drawings License to a User

Grant Drawings Permissions to a User
Access the Permission Groups page by going to User Admin > Permission Groups. From this page, you can grant the specific drawings permissions that the team member needs to their assigned permission group. Note that even if a user has permission to access the Drawings tool via their permission group, they still need to be assigned a license in order for the Drawings tool to appear in their project menu.
For complete steps and guidance on permission group management, see the Set Up User Permissions article.
While creating or editing a permission group:
- Select the desired permissions under the Drawings - General Permissions section
- Select the checkmark when finished

Add Markups to Sheets
Team members can use a range of simple markup tools to add annotations that draw attention to specific areas of a drawing. The markup toolbar includes clouds, shapes, arrows, lines, text, and other tools to support clear communication.
Each of the markup options is different, but the general method for most markups is to first select the markup option on the toolbar, then hold and drag your cursor along the image to apply the markup to the desired area on the sheet.
From Sheets:
- Select a sheet to view it, then select Edit
- Select one of the markup options on the toolbar to reveal the markup tools
- Select from annotations, shapes, and measurements

Create a Snapshot from a Sheet and Link It to an RFI
Snapshots are cropped and flattened images of a section of a sheet. To create a snapshot of a sheet, start from the Sheets View. Once the snapshot is created, the system auto-generates its name based on the originating sheet name and it is saved under Snapshots on the project menu under Drawings.
From the Sheets Log:
- Select a sheet to view it, then select Snapshot
- Use the buttons on the toolbar to zoom ⊕ ⊖ and pan
on the sheet until the desired area is captured in the preview
- During this step, you can choose whether to save the new snapshot to Snapshots or attach the new snapshot to an RFI
- Select Done when finished
